The heat of oranges, and pinks is cooled by the dark purples and browns that work their way across the field. Balance is achieved. Heavy stitching adds depth and interest to this hand-dyed work, one more reason to go in for a closer look.
Color is always the focus of my art. The nuance between fuschia and watermelon, or chartreuse and lime can occupy an afternoon when selecting fabrics. It's what led me to begin dyeing my own fabrics, and creating quilts using simple, repetitive shapes. Color is everything.
This piece has finished edges, a hanging sleeve and rod , and is ready for installation.
